Grow more grass. Feed less hay.

A lot of the notes we get are not about buying beef. They are about grass. A pasture that should be doing more, and a hay bill that should be doing less.
On our own farms, we are working to restore native grasslands for rotational, multi-species grazing with the cattle and the sheep. We manage multiple farms so each pasture gets enough rest and recovery before it is grazed again.
Kyle Leonard: “I know how to maximize the potential of your current grazing operation. If you’re willing to listen and willing to make changes, I guarantee I can help make improvements in how you grow more grass and feed less hay.”
If you want someone to look at what your pasture can do for the herd or the flock, write back on this note or call the farm. Tell us what you run, and what the grass is doing now. We’ll tell you whether a visit makes sense.
The mill is the other job besides the food. We come to your logs, or you bring them here. That one is easier to talk through on the phone, once we know the wood and where it sits.
